We want to reach out to all of our amazing Apprenticeship employers at this difficult time. We massively appreciate the role you are playing in shaping the workforce of the future and supporting your existing staff members with further learning and development opportunities.
We appreciate things are difficult all round and we want to update you on what we are doing to support your apprentices. To echo what the Prime Minister has said, it’s vital that we protect people’s jobs and this includes apprentices.
We are in contact with the vast majority of apprentices remotely. We have full remote support available through our e-portfolio system and also have video call conference facilities available. We can deliver group sessions and individual 1-2-1 support remotely.
We are continuing to deliver learning and support to apprentices in a number of ways.
An important point to note: if you do have to furlough any apprentices, we will still continue their training with them. I appreciate that they will not be in work with you but there are number of things we can do to deliver vital training that will develop their knowledge and skills.
These learners do not need to be placed on a break in learning and Levy paying employers do not need to pause apprentices on their Digital Apprenticeship Account as they are still accessing training. Please don’t take any actions with the learner. Please contact us first and we will help you decide the best course of action.
Where learners are at home, either working or self-isolating, we can also fully support them in all aspects of learning and will be continuing to do so throughout this difficult time.
