TRS Skills Bootcamps FAQs for Employers

Training

A TRS Skills Bootcamp is a short intensive training programme designed to equip individuals with the skills to carry out specific job roles . These courses are relevant to several different job roles in the logistics sector. They are tailored to meet the needs of employers looking for skilled workers or wanting to upskill their current workforce.

We offer a variety of logistics-related skills bootcamps:

  • International freight forwarding
  • Introduction to transport manager
  • HGV driving
  • Transport Manager/Sustainability Champion

Each skills bootcamp is broken down into several modules.

The duration of each skills bootcamp can vary but typically ranges from 8 to 16 weeks. Our programmes are designed to be intensive yet flexible, ensuring that they fit around existing work commitments.

Most of our skills bootcamps are offered virtually. However, the HGV driving skills bootcamp requires some in-person driver training.

The flexible nature of our bootcamps means that training can often be scheduled to fit in well with work commitments to ensure minimum disruption. However, employers must provide adequate time for the staff member to undertake the course.

Participants will receive a certificate upon completion, which can be an industry-recognised qualification or a certificate of achievement, depending on the bootcamp. This certification validates the new skills acquired during the training.

Cost & Funding

If you are recruiting new staff to fill unfilled vacancies, there is no charge to the employer. For upskilling existing staff:

  • SMEs (small or medium enterprises with up to 249 employees): 10% of the course cost.
  • Larger companies (over 250 employees): 30% of the course cost.

For SMEs, prices start at £150 plus VAT per person, depending on the course selected.

Eligibility

Yes, there are specific eligibility criteria for individuals wishing to enrol:

  • Must be aged 19 or over.
  • Must live or work in the geographic area covered by the funding.
