International Trade Week: super-skill your team for global trade

International Trade Week is here! It’s a UK-wide event designed to help businesses of all sizes and sectors boost their revenue, increase exports, and expand their global reach.

Global trade is evolving rapidly and is becoming more complex. New regulatory regimes include the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD.) Also, there’s the UK’s emerging Sustainability Reporting Standards (UK SRS). These, along with stricter freight documentation and submission requirements, mean freight forwarding companies need new, updated knowledge to manage shipments, track supply chains, and report on both environmental and trade‑compliance performance. For freight forwarders and logistics companies, this knowledge will allow them to:

  • Ensure shipments comply with customs, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Accurately document goods and supply chain movements to avoid delays and penalties.
  • Measure carbon footprints (and broader sustainability performance) and  report under the appropriate sustainability‑disclosure regimes.

Funded Skills Bootcamp

The Liverpool City Region is one of the UK’s major gateways for global freight and trade. Businesses in the region whose operations include the movement of goods can take advantage of our 8 week FUNDED online international freight forwarding Skills Bootcamp (Liverpool City Region). It’s an ideal way to develop staff to have the latest compliance and regulatory knowledge for the industry. Delivered in partnership with BIFA, it equips teams involved with the international movement of goods with skills in:

  • Freight forwarding essentials
  • Customs essentials
  • Dangerous & hazardous goods handling
  • Efficient freight documentation
  • CSRD reporting & sustainability practices
  • And much more!

By investing in your team’s skills, your business can stay ahead of evolving regulations, reduce risk, and trade smarter, safer, and greener.

Costs

The Skills Bootcamp is available to all eligible businesses and candidates at a fraction of the commercial costs (which would be £3000). Small to medium businesses (with less than 250 staff) pay just £300 +VAT. Meanwhile, larger businesses (with over 250+ staff) pay £900 +VAT. Importantly, there is NO COST to individuals doing the course.

Limited spaces

Make this International Trade Week count by giving your team the tools to thrive in a forever changing global trade environment. This course provides professional skills for anyone who is involved in the international movement of goods.

The Skills Bootcamp is also ideal for anyone looking to start or switch to a career in the freight and logistics industry. After completing the programme, our team will help connect you with employers in the sector and support you in securing an interview.

Spaces are limited so apply soon for courses starting in November and December. Participants on the course must be aged 19+, and live or work in the Liverpool City Region. They can not have attended another funded Skills Bootcamp since 1st April 2025.
