TRS announced as a national finalist in the Specialist Training Provider of the Year category at the Apprenticeship Training Awards 2026, ahead of a parliamentary reception and national awards ceremony in the Liverpool City Region.
TRS is proud to announce that we have been shortlisted as a national finalist in the Specialist Training Provider of the Year category at the FE Week & AELP Apprenticeship Training Awards 2026, in association with City & Guilds. The confirmation was published today across sector media.
As a national specialist logistics training provider, TRS delivers apprenticeships, Skills Bootcamps and other training to employers and learners across the country. Although our reach is nationwide, we are proud to call the Liverpool City Region our home. This makes national recognition during a year when the awards ceremony takes place in Liverpool especially meaningful.
We extend our warm congratulations to all other providers shortlisted in this category.
About the Apprenticeship Training Awards
The Apprenticeship Training Awards are firmly established as one of the most respected celebrations of apprenticeship excellence in the UK. They shine a spotlight on organisations and individuals who deliver outstanding training, champion quality, and strengthen the national skills landscape.
The awards are known for their rigorous judging process led by senior sector figures, and attract entries from across the country. Being named a national finalist reflects a provider’s contribution to raising skills standards and supporting businesses and individuals through impactful training.
For specialist providers such as TRS, these awards hold particular significance. They recognise the vital role played by organisations that focus on a specific sector, contributing expertise and deep insight.
Impact in logistics skills development
TRS is delighted to be shortlisted for this award. It’s so rewarding to have our commitment to skills growth in the logistics sector recognised. We’re particularly proud to be helping to address the UK driver shortage. Over the last five years, we have trained more than 1,000 HGV drivers. In this way, we are helping strengthen the national transport workforce and supporting employers facing long-term recruitment challenges.
Beyond HGV training, we continue to support the sector through apprenticeships, Skills Bootcamps and specialist pathways designed in partnership with leading industry bodies including the BAR, RHA and UKWA.
Looking ahead to the national ceremony
As a national finalist, TRS will be attending a parliamentary reception at the House of Lords on 9 February 2026. We will subsequently be attending the National Awards Ceremony in Liverpool on 3 March 2026. These events bring together outstanding providers, employers and policymakers to celebrate excellence across apprenticeships and training.
