We are excited to announce that we have once again secured the prestigious Matrix Standard accreditation. This recognition reflects our continued commitment to delivering high-quality information, advice and guidance (IAG), and reinforces our position among leading training providers and career support services across the UK.
The Matrix Standard is a nationally recognised quality framework owned by the Department for Education. It is widely regarded as the gold standard for organisations delivering information, advice and guidance (IAG) services, ensuring they meet consistently high levels of quality, effectiveness and continuous improvement.
Assessor comments
This year’s assessment highlights the areas in which we excel and the strong support we provide to both our learners and employers, as well as the positive impact we continue to make in the ever-changing industry of logistics and transport. Below are some of the key findings from the assessor’s report.
Personalised development and learner support
We provide clear, tailored Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) from initial enquiry through to completion of the course. Learners receive detailed initial assessment and progress reviews throughout the course. With the introduction of our pastoral officer and additional trainers, plans are personalised to their individual needs, including, if required, support for our neurodiverse learners, thus ensuring the relevance and accessibility of the course and improving the likelihood of their success. The assessor recognised this as highly effective, with learners showing improved confidence, communication, and self-management.
Onboarding improvements
Our onboarding stage was praised as a thorough process, following our “Correct Course, Correct Career” approach to ensure learners understand their apprenticeship and expectations. The report highlights our strong communication between staff and ensuring accurate sharing of learner information and support needs, creating a smoother transition and more consistent learner experience from the outset.
Partnerships and employer engagement
Our strong employer and industry partnerships were identified as a key strength, supporting recruitment, delivery, and progression. Close collaboration with employers and sector bodies ensures our programmes remain relevant, responsive, and aligned to skills needs. These relationships provide insight into workforce demand and career opportunities, helping shape learner pathways. The assessor recognised this engagement as a particular strength in maintaining high-quality, industry-aligned provision and meaningful progression routes.
Use of digital technology
The assessor recognised that digital technology is essential to delivery at TRS. They highlighted the use of IT as a strength to what we offer and mentioned the app called Padlet. We use Padlet as an online platform for our learners and employers, providing key programme information, resources, and additional learning materials. For example, web links to job vacancies, interview techniques and career support resources.
Why the Matrix standard matters
The Matrix Standard recognises organisations that support individuals to make informed decisions about their training and employment. The standard provides a trusted benchmark for service quality across the sector.
Achieving the Matrix Standard shows that our support is clear, consistent, and effective. Gaining this accreditation demonstrates our commitment to providing high-quality IAG and ensuring our services support both learners and employers.
