TRS Training is excited to be sharing our apprentice success stories as part of National Apprenticeship Week, now in its 13th year. This annual event is a great way to celebrate how apprenticeships help progress individuals’ careers and businesses’ workforces.
No Better Time To Celebrate
There is no better time to shout about the amazing achievements of the apprentices TRS has trained and the contributions they have made in their workplaces.
Employers of all sizes can benefit from getting involved in apprenticeships. By using Government funding or the Apprenticeship Levy to develop the skills of existing employees, firms can boost staff satisfaction, motivation and loyalty. Many logistics and haulage employers are facing a shortage of skilled staff, but the good news is, this can be addressed through apprenticeships! Many companies in the sector are already involved with apprenticeships and are seeing fantastic results.
Huge Benefits for Employers
Below is a small selection of the many TRS apprentices who are delivering huge benefits to their employers:
Keith Mace
Keith was TRS Training’s first Traffic Officer apprentice achiever. His apprenticeship helped him progress his career, and he has now been promoted to Team Leader. Keith works for Wren Kitchens one of the UK’s largest retailers with its own distribution network.
Kerlina Wright
Kerlina undertook an apprenticeship with TRS and is now a great role model for females choosing careers in the logistics and transport sector. Kerlina holds her CPC and gained her LGV licence through the TRS Training LGV Apprenticeship. She is now an LGV driver for the company she works for and has taken on many responsibilities.
Bethany Thatcher
Bethany is another TRS Training apprentice who, in light of her hard work, gained a distinction. With a Level 2 in Customer Service under her belt, she works at Mitchells Distribution. She helps oversee the fast-paced overnight pallet delivery service from the company’s site in Leicester.
Warren Harris
Warren, who is employed by Freshlinc, was announced as the South Holland Business Awards Apprentice of the Year 2019. He is now a qualified LGV driver, progressing to this job after his Apprenticeship with TRS Training. This award singles him out as a rising star at one of the UK’s leading operators of articulated trucks.
Angelhus Istrate
Angelhus started out as a drivers mate at Wren Kitchens. He has now been promoted to Team Leader after passing his LGV Apprenticeship with distinction through TRS. The skills and knowledge he gained in his apprenticeship mean his employer has been able to give him significant responsibilities in the firm, which has 250 HGVs operating from five depots across the UK.
The Next Generation
The above are just some of the TRS apprentices whose successes we are sharing during #NAW2020. They are helping to highlight how apprenticeships make a positive impact both in the workplace and on individuals’ careers.
